Walk a million steps in support of Recovery Cymru.
At HSJ we believe that businesses have a role to play in the growth of their communities. Therefore, we engage with social good causes to enhance our Corporate Social Responsibility by working on issues that benefit those that help communities throughout Wales. As a result, we have committed to walk a Million Steps in support of Recovery Cymru.
About Recovery Cymru
Recovery Cymru is a community for people overcoming alcohol / drug problems. We support people to overcome problems and improve their quality of life.
We run two open-access recovery centres, in Cardiff and Barry. These are open 365 days per year. Our centres are led by people with lived experience.
Our programmes are peer informed and peer-led, informed by psychological good practice. Therefore, we offer weekly face to face support groups, calls and text messaging support. Also, we have adapted our sessions for online to comply with ‘social distancing’ measures.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic we operate a full online and ‘distance delivery’ schedule. This includes video chat and online group programme. We are now committed to continue this long term to increase access for those seeking support.
Our approach is based on community, participation and independence. We believe that everyone has the potential to recover from substance use problems.
Our activities are based upon the following principles: hope, choice, empowerment, inclusion, understanding, support, enjoyment and acceptance.
If you are looking for support, our friendly team are here to tell you more about what we offer and make it as easy for you to get involved in our confidential support as possible. We know making this first call can be hard but we will listen without judgement.
